Welcome to our dedicated space for our new Reception children.

As you will be aware, our programme of transition into school is now a blend of remote communications and shorter school days in September.

Below is a video introduction with Mrs Galley, Headteacher, for parents viewing and comprises of the content of our usual face to face meeting. You will also find an ebook for each class that you can share with your child as well as a short welcome video from each teaching team.

A general ‘show around’ video made for earlier in the year is also available at the bottom of the page that shows both inside and outside of the classrooms.

Please use these resources as and when you start to talk to your child about starting school.

We are sorry that this year we are unable again to have July visits as part of transitioning into school but have children joining us from 25 different pre-school settings and this doesn’t feel safe in the current climate to have so many different groups coming into school. We hope you’ll understand and be reassured that our current Reception children who experienced a similar transition, plus the impact of not being in nursery from March to June/July last year, have settled very well indeed. We can promise to work hard to support your children, come September, when they arrive for the first time!

Monday 5th September – Thursday 8th September

Reception session times are: 8.30am – 11.00am and 12.30pm – 3.00pm

Friday 9th September all children will attend for the full day which is 8.30am – 3.05pm.

The map to the right shows which gate to queue at in the morning and your child’s class teacher will meet you there. Please talk to your child about being able to say goodbye at the school gate and coming into school by themselves.
