About us….

Our school was first opened in 1878 for the education of children of all ages. In January 1967 it became an infant school following the opening of Chellaston Junior School. Our school is a co-educational school for children aged from four to seven years and is maintained by Derby City Council.

Chellaston Infant School is a successful school that prides itself on its commitment to providing all pupils with a high quality education, taking into account individual needs. Our most recent Ofsted Inspection noted that –“Pupils achieve well and monitoring arrangements for pupil progress are extensive. Pupils’ individual welfare arrangements are central to the work of the school and significant elements are outstanding.” We only achieve this through close partnership with parents and carers.

We look forward to working with you to ensure that your child’s time at our school is as positive, exciting and successful as it can be.
